<![CDATA[Portraits In Clay by Thea - Blog]]>Tue, 08 Mar 2022 05:37:50 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[The Proverbial Glass Ceiling]]>Mon, 20 Mar 2017 23:00:01 GMThttp://portraitsinclay.net/blog/the-proverbial-glass-ceilingCurrently I am interviewing friends and colleagues, asking them if they feel that they have a glass ceiling or box restricting them from accomplishing their dreams.  With that information, I ask if there is this glass ceiling or box around you, describe how your body fits in that space.  I have successfully nailed a subject that is very daunting to many people.   I have had a few people pose for me to help me depict this painful state of being.  This has become the theme to a series of sculptures I am making.  Nicole is the first piece of the series.  She is sitting upright but the vertical space in narrow and she can feel the glass oppressing just over her head.  She still appears to have dignity.
